Inês Fonseca

My name is Inês Fonseca, and I am a Biochemistry Master’s student in University of Beira Interior. Having microbiology as one of my interests has led me to the study I am currently performing, entitled, “Effects of Short-Chain Fatty Acids on Aliarcobacter butzleri’s Virulence”. This work’s main aim is to understand the possible effects that short-chain fatty acids may have on this bacterium’s virulence potential, as it crosses the gastrointestinal tract to reach its colonization site. This work has been developed under the supervision of Professor Susana Ferreira and co-supervision of Professor Fernanda Domingues and Doctor Mónica Oleastro (INSA).
