International Microorganism Day 2024
September to October 2024
When a special day turns into a month full of inspiring activities, that’s exactly what happened!
It began with a talk on "Genomics Applied to Infectious Diseases" by Dr. Alexandra Nunes from the National Health Institute Dr. Ricardo Jorge, setting the tone for the event.
Youth activities, initiated on that day, and continued until the end of October to keep the excitement alive. From student visits to the University of Beira Interior (UBI) and the UBI Science Fair held during European Researchers' Night to visits to regional schools, interest in microbiology was infectious. The enthusiasm, especially among younger participants, exceeded all expectations.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated, collaborated, and welcomed us, especially our colleagues from CICS-UBI, who always accompanied us on this adventure.
